Brettingtons Steakhouse

Steakhouses ask more from their furniture than most hospitality spaces. Seating must feel comfortable and generous, but it also needs to cope with constant use. At Brettingtons in Rochester, the aim was to create a warm, confident interior with a clear steakhouse identity.

The client wanted furniture that looked premium but worked hard every day. The space needed to feel welcoming, well zoned, and built to last.

DeFrae Contract Furniture supplied a complete package of bespoke banquette seating, dining chairs, bar stools and solid wood tables. We worked closely with the client to make sure every element suited the layout and the look of the restaurant.

Bespoke banquette & booth seating

Banquette seating runs throughout the restaurant, with a mix of curved booths and straight runs. This layout helps define dining areas while making the most of the available space.

Each banquette was made to suit its position within the room. The fluted back upholstery adds depth and rhythm to the space without feeling heavy.

The backs are upholstered in a rich paprika velvet, while the seat pads use cow hide fabric. Together, these finishes bring texture and warmth, with a subtle nod to classic steakhouse interiors.

All upholstery meets Crib 5 contract standards, making the seating suitable for busy service while keeping comfort front and centre. This style of bespoke booth seating works particularly well in steakhouses, pubs, and premium dining spaces.

Restaurant chairs & bar stools

To complement the banquettes, DeFrae supplied Vito side chairs and matching bar stools across the restaurant and bar areas.  To create a classic vintage feel our Archie side chairs complement the look.

The chairs feature a deep wenge finish and brown Crib 5 faux leather upholstery. This combination keeps the look classic and understated, while standing up to daily use. The chairs sit comfortably alongside the richer textures used in the banquette seating.

Their solid build makes them a strong choice for high-use restaurant and pub furniture settings.

Solid wood tabletops

The tables feature solid ash tabletops, stained to match a client-approved sample. This helped create a consistent tone across the dining space.

Supplied as part of DeFrae’s solid ashwood contract tabletops range, the 25mm thick solid wood tops add warmth and character. At the same time, they offer the strength needed for everyday service.

The finished space

The completed interior at Brettingtons feels confident and inviting. Clear seating zones improve flow, while the mix of textures adds comfort and visual interest.

This project shows how well-designed banquette seating, combined with durable restaurant furniture, can lift both the look and performance of a hospitality space. It works just as well for steakhouses as it does for pubs and premium dining venues.
